Families honor soldiers with Legacy stones

On Aug. 3, the stone placement ceremony took place at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville.

Friends and family came to honor Grossbier veterans: Aloysius; Peter and Paul of Wisconsin Rapids; and Ponczoch veterans: Charles, James and Clifford of Stratford. The stones were sponsored by their respective families. The two families are friends who enjoyed the ceremony together, stating that they placed these stones to honor these men for serving God and country. Friends and surviving family members came from Milwaukee, New Berlin, Wisconsin Rapids, Auburndale, ...
