A new front door doesn't usually take 14 months to finish, but the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh's new front door is about 39,000 square feet and two stories tall.

The university's multipurpose Alumni Welcome and Conference Center should be completed sometime in December and will host its first event in early April.

Nonetheless, UWO Foundation President Art Rathjen already is excited about the alumni gatherings, community celebrations, wedding receptions and conferences that will be held in the new building. ...
