The city of Wausau soon will begin searching for a developer to restore the blighted Sav-O Supply riverfront warehouse it bought nearly a year ago.

The city will seek applications from companies interested in redeveloping the warehouse at 1418 N. First St., City Planner Brad Lenz said. The city will give developers a couple of months to apply before the city chooses one; there is no set deadline yet.

Lenz said the second floor of the old Sav-O building could be used for loft-style apartments while the first floor could be used for residential parking or commercial space, but the city is open to ...
