The Brown County Sheriff's Department is asking for help identifying three people allegedly involved in passing counterfeit money at a Target Store in Bellevue this month.

The incidents occurred just after 1 p.m. Aug. 13.

The department said one of the suspects attempted to use a counterfeit $100 but was denied by the cashier. About 10 minutes later, another woman made a purchase of $14.77 using a fake $100 bill. She was accompanied by another woman, who the department described as an apparent accomplice.

It appears the counterfeit $100 was originally a $5 bill.

All three women left in the same vehicle, according to the sheriff's department.

People with information can contact the sheriff's department at (920) 448-4230 or (920) 448-6190.
