The city of Wausau will consider combining fire and EMS services with surrounding municipalities at the suggestion of a consultant's report examining the opportunities for service-sharing.

The city paid about $54,000 for the 167-page report, which includes data on the employees, conditions of buildings and equipment, revenues, response times and more for Wausau, Schofield, Rothschild, the village of Weston and town of Rib Mountain.

The City Council will view a presentation of the report by Oregon-based Emergency Services Consulting International on Sept. 19 and decide what action ...
