Weston Ace Hardware is supporting a fund drive for six local non-profits that provide valuable services to our area and in need of financial support. They are The Boys and Girls Club, The Women's Community, Randlin Homes, The Neighbors' Place, New Life Pet Adoption and the Humane Society of Marathon County.

Weston Ace Hardware is helping by sponsoring the Miles for Charity Challenge in conjunction with 89-Q FM. The goal is to ride 10,000 miles and collect as many pledges as possible to support these groups. For each mile, Ken Bishop of 89-Q and Ben Hoffman, general manager at Ace Hardware, are riding their motorcycles this summer through Sept. 28, and Weston Ace will donate five cents a mile. Many of Ace Hardware's vendor partners have generously donated to the cause.

Bishop and Hoffman already have racked up more than 4,000 miles, with a big ride coming up on Sept. 7, when Hoffman will be driving from Weston to Orlando, Fla., adding another 3,000 miles to the total.

Whether you donate directly to the groups or to the Miles for Charity Challenge, contributions will help these local groups continue to provide important services.
