Aug. 31, 1952 - 3,200 registered to vote on Preble referendum: Approximately 3,200 residents in the proposed Village of Preble are registered to vote in the referendum on the village questions Thursday, Mrs. Ethel DeMuyser, town clerk, said today.

The election will be conducted by a three-member election board appointed by circuit court at the time the referendum was ordered. The board includes Mrs. Walter Allen, Mrs. Leo H. DeGreef and Jules C. Berger.

By law, the referendum is restricted to registered voters in the proposed village of some 2,700 acres extending from the south line of Bay Beach on the north to the Bellevue town line and from the east city limits eastward two to two and a half miles along an irregular line. The referendum will be the climax of an incorporation fight begun almost three years ago when the first petition for a village was filed in circuit court.
