On Aug. 29, Press-Gazette Media reported that Green Bay civic leaders are considering allowing Walmart to purchase land in the Broadway district to open a new retail store. Several local business owners expressed reservations about a big-box retailer putting a damper on the local culture. As a labor historian, I would like to offer some additional skepticism about another Walmart.
