A Stratford man who allegedly wrapped his dog in blue packing tape faces charges of intentionally mistreating an animal and obstructing an officer.

David R. Butler, 45, will make his initial appearance on the charges Thursday in Marathon County Circuit Court, Wausau, according to court documents.

A photo of a dog bound in blue tape was posted on Facebook and rapidly reposted on the social media site. A Stratford police officer began investigating the case after a resident reported seeing the photo, said Police Chief Korey Schillinger. ...
