Gibraltar hosts Sevastopol Friday night in the first eight-man high school football game between the two Door County rivals.

The small neighboring schools switched to eight-man football this season because of declining participation and the constant struggle of fielding competitive teams.

So far, the change has been especially promising for Gibraltar. The Vikings are 2-0 with blowout wins over Maranatha Baptist (56-12) and Luck (80-44). ...
