Appleton man in court in connection to heroin death

A teen accused of selling heroin to a man who later died of an overdose appeared in Outagamie County commissioner court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

After testimony from an Appleton police investigator, Judge Brian Figy ruled there was enough evidence that a felony was committed for the case to continue.

Robert R. Thompson, 19, of Appleton, is charged with being a party to first-degree reckless homicide, and while he told police he did help arrange the sale, he denied actually handling the transaction. ...
