A controversial Walmart store proposal is causing signs of a rift between downtown Green Bay merchants and a group dedicated to promoting their popular Broadway shopping district.

A new organization known as the Broadway Business Alliance announced Wednesday it has passed a vote of "no confidence" in the board of directors for On Broadway Inc.

On Broadway Inc., a nonprofit group that promotes and enhances the Broadway district, also owns the property being considered as the site for a possible Walmart store. ...
