A new way to learn: Oconto Middle School opens Bayshore Community Academy

Sixty students started on a new path to learning on Tuesday with the opening of Bayshore Community Academy at Oconto Middle School.

The 5th through 7th graders are guided by a trio of "advisors" - Jenny Holmgren, Kelly Votava and Allison Campbell -- who will lead their groups through a variety of projects that will comprise much of their learning.

This "project-based learning environment," is intended to help students learn more than just core subjects in ways that could help them to be more successful in school and beyond. ...
