Hospital replaces beds to improve safety

Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital leadership rolled up their sleeves at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to assemble and replace 300 beds throughout the facility.

The $4.9 million effort will replace about 90 percent of the Marshfield hospital's beds, some of which have been in use since the early 1980s, said Wayne Pattengill, director of environmental and central transport services at Saint Joseph's Hospital.

The project is expected to be complete by Friday afternoon. Empty beds were located and discarded Wednesday; patients were transferred to new beds as they became available. ...
