For most of this year, coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Ted Thompson have shown a greater commitment to the Green Bay Packers' run game, in words and deeds.

In early April, they signed free agent Matthew Mulligan, the kind of block-first tight end they hadn't had on their roster for years.
