Nelsonville is gearing up to celebrate 100 years of history with festivities aimed at educating and exciting those unfamiliar with the village's Norwegian past. The village also is planning to celebrate the historic 125-year-old Nelsonville Lutheran Church.

The centennial celebration on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a parade through the village featuring a Norwegian wedding procession with a bride and groom who are decedents of the founders of the Nelsonville community.
