Man accused of punching pregnant woman, dousing her with gasoline found guilty of reduced charges

A 24-year-old former Marshfield man authorities say doused a pregnant woman with gasoline and punched her in the stomach to try to make her miscarry pleaded no contest Wednesday in Wood County Circuit Court to amended charges.

Tyler S. Ress, who currently is in Waupun Correctional Institute on related charges, was found guilty of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation and false imprisonment, all as a domestic abuse incident and repeat offender. Wood County Circuit Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr. scheduled Ress' sentencing for Oct. 18.
