Two people were injured after what police describe as a race between two vehicles in a residential neighborhood in Wausau that ended in a crash.

The crash happened at about 11:13 p.m. Tuesday when the driver of one vehicle was racing eastbound in the westbound lane of Bopf Street, Wausau Police Lt. Michael Juedes said. The driver, a 19-year-old woman whose name was not released, lost control of her vehicle and smashed into a concrete porch at a home in the 1200 block of South Sixth Avenue, he said. The vehicle flipped and crashed into a telephone pole, Juedes said.
