Police: Driver who struck house was racing another vehicle

Two people are injured after a car struck a house after what police describe as a race between two vehicles in a residential neighborhood in Wausau.

The crash happened at about 11:13 p.m. when the driver of a PT Cruiser was racing eastbound in the westbound lane of Bopf Street, Wausau Police Lt. Michael Juedes said. The driver, a 19-year-old woman whose name was not released, lost control of her vehicle and smashed into a concrete porch at a home in the 1200 block of S. Sixth Avenue, he said. The vehicle flipped and crashed into a telephone pole, Juedes said.
