EDITOR: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all who tried to help me find my cockatiel, Grayson, which has been gone since June 27.

I'd even like to thank the person who made the very nasty and hurtful prank call I got on my birthday - now my children know how not to act.

Thanks to the people who have called and wished me luck, prayed with me. Thanks to Pat Mitten and the wonderful doctors from Aspirus Wausau Hospital who let me call for my bird on their deck; to Seth and Emily and their dear neighbor friend; to those who put Grayson on their Facebook pages. You have opened up your hearts and I cannot express my gratitude.

If anyone does have our special bird, please, please love him; he was such a great friend to our family. The holidays are coming up and he would love to sit in our Christmas tree and play with all of the ornaments with his mate, Ella; they were so in love. She has not spoken since the loss of her friend.

Please, if anyone does have him, please love him. Cockatiels are very social and loving animals, not content to be caged all day and ignored. If by chance someone who reads this has him, and he gets to be too much work for you - I will come and get him, no questions asked, and be so ever thankful.

Our hearts still continue to feel a deep and unending loss.

Ann Hartwig,

Wausau
