The dialogue between townspeople and the Gibraltar Town Board was civil but fell short of what the Friends of Gibraltar Town Roads group sought at Wednesday's board meeting in Fish Creek.

The Friends asked Town Chairman Brian Merkel to clarify the town's road-brushing policy to ease concerns over the cutting of trees that some property owners say change the character of the road and encourage traffic to go faster. The board has maintained cutting and clearing brush and large trees is necessary to provide access for emergency vehicles, plows and sight lines.
