Retired electrician Karl Spaulding was working in Rothschild in the spring when he began to fill discomfort in his arms. It was a hot day, and he was working on a ladder, reaching above his head to finish the job, so he just brushed it off as work-related.

As the pain got worse throughout the day, Spaulding began to worry that his body was telling him something was wrong.

"I was aware of all the warning signs, but I wasn't connecting the dots," he said. ...
