After the defense struggled to stop quarterback Jayson Wiernik and the Wisconsin Rapids ground attack for most of the game, the D.C. Everest offense proved to be unstoppable when it counted most.

Trailing by four points in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, the Evergreens marched 81 yards on 14 plays - all on the ground - to score the game-winning touchdown on a Wyatt Brown 2-yard run with 25 seconds left to defeat the Raiders 20-17 on Friday night at Stiehm Stadium.

The victory evened Everest's record at 1-1, while Rapids fell to 1-1. ...
