Bruno leads county runners in Freedom Invite

Joe Bruno of Sevastopol finished 39th out of a total of 142 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 43 seconds in the Freedom Invitational high school cross-country meet Friday afternoon at Irish Waters Golf Course.

Led by a time of 19:41 from Mark Knutson, Gibraltar/Washington Island placed 15th out of 19 boys teams with 460 points, while Sevastopol scored 461 to finish 16th. Host school Freedom won the boys meet, scoring 48 to edge Little Chute by one point.

On the girls' side, Sevastopol placed 21st with 613 points and Gibraltar was 22nd with 637. Appleton North won the 22-team meet with 74 points. ...
