Spartans roll past Red Raiders

Nate Neveau's 14-yard touchdown run just before halftime answered a pair of Wisconsin Rapids scores and sparked Oshkosh North to a 36-19 win in the Spartans' Valley Football Association opener on Saturday afternoon.

North, which improved to 3-0 on the season, led 15-0 after the first quarter but saw that lead sliced down to just three points when the Red Raiders scored on a pair of runs in the second quarter.

Neveau's scoring run gave the Spartans a 21-12 lead at the break as well as some much-needed momentum heading into the second half. ...
