The Green Bay Packers' starting defense played 12 full series in the preseason.
Against Arizona (three possessions), St. Louis (four possessions) and Seattle (five possessions) combined, coordinator Dom Capers' starters gave up 10 points: a 31-yard touchdown pass to the Cardinals and a 27-yard field goal to the Seahawks.
Those 12 possessions are about equivalent to a full game. And those results, most notably holding the Seahawks to a field goal in the first half with starters against starters, suggest the Packers will be a better defense in 2013 than they were in 2012. ...
