You don't need to be a grandparent to enjoy family events today at the George W. Mead Wildlife Area, which is the site for activities and projects in celebration of Grandparents Day.

"This is a good opportunity for everyone to have fun by getting outside and doing things," said Susan Hall, a Stevens Point-area teacher who is one of the event coordinators. "The Mead has new observations decks, which offer good views of the wildlife. And there are so many activities planned for children and adults."
