The city will buy 18 metal bird sculptures at $1,800 each - $32,400 total - to place in the center of a section of Highway 52 Parkway/Stewart Avenue to help beautify the corridor once it is redone.
Most of the money will come from Wausau's tax increment district 6, a section of the west side where property taxes from new developments are set aside for improvements. Some of the funding also will come from the city's capital budget, said Finance Director MaryAnne Groat. ...
