A 27-year-old man accused of shooting and injuring a Taylor County sheriff's deputy remains in the Lincoln County Jail on a $1 million cash bond set by the Taylor County Circuit Court judge following his appearance in court Monday afternoon.

Alexander Joseph Schneider will make his initial appearance on charges Sept. 24, according to a spokeswoman for the Taylor County Circuit Court.

Schneider appears to have posted messages on his Facebook page immediately before and after the incident, writing that he "shot at the cops all cause I loved a girl." ...
