Women can learn the basics of archery at an outdoor range in a class offered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at Newport State Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19.

The course will be taught by two certified National Archery in the Schools instructors: Julie Hein-Frank and conservation warden Chris Kratcha.

The class will teach fundamentals to improve motivation, attention, behavior, and focus through the practice of target style archery. This is not a hunter education course.

Participants should bring a bag lunch and call Kratcha by Sept. 18 to reserve a spot at (920) 746-2871.
