Soccer: Blazers hand Clippers first league loss

With first place in the Packerland Conference on the line, a defensive breakdown led to a quick goal that gave Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran a 1-0 win over Sturgeon Bay in a high school boys soccer game Tuesday in Green Bay.

A win would have kept the Clippers undefeated in conference play with a 1-game lead over the Blazers as the season approaches the halfway mark. Instead, the Blazers (6-1) moved ahead of the Clippers (5-1) by a half game.

"The guys don't like it at all, and I don't blame them. I don't either," Clippers coach Todd Maas said. "If we won, that would've put us in the driver's seat. ...
