DCL baseball: Braves repeat as playoff champs

The last team to qualify for the Door County League baseball playoffs ended up winning the whole shebang.

No. 4-seeded Kolberg beat No. 3 Sister Bay, 6-4, in 10 innings Sunday to capture a second consecutive playoff championship.

The Braves broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 10th, when Travis LeRoy reached on a bunt single, stole second base and scored on an infield hit by Jeff Sperber. Greg Klaubauf, who reached on a fielder's choice, then later scored on a pickoff rundown involving Sperber at first base to give the Braves a 6-4 lead. ...
