It's thanks to one of the world's most notorious leaders that Door County residents will be able to enjoy one of the nation's top string quartets in concert on Sept. 16 and 17.

In 1940, members of the Pro Arte String Quartet, an internationally renowned Belgian group formed in 1911, were giving a concert at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party had Germany invade Belgium, leaving Pro Arte stranded in the United States.
