Reader question: Can you tell us what is happening with the building at CE and N in Kimberly? I think it was Anthony’s Paint Center? The building was for sale. Now I see they appear to be adding to it and the sign says space for lease.
Answer: Anthony’s Paint & Decorating closed in late 2012. It was at the corner you mentioned, but is technically W2721 Brookhaven Drive in the town of Buchanan.
Now it has a new owner who’s fixing things up.
“We’re going to be renovating the main building and it’s going to be a professional building available for lease. It could be for office or retail,” said Jared Van Lanen, who purchased the entire property from a bank in late July. “We’re building another new building there. It will be a commercial climate-controlled storage building.”
The new structure will be built over the next month. Its 8,800 square feet of flexible storage space can accommodate multiple users. Because it will be maintained at a constant 55 degrees, he says it will be suitable for higher-end items like documents and valuables.
Van Lanen also owns Tuckaway Storage and A-1 Fox Valley Storage. His family owns V and V Storage.
