Dog park Tailgate Party on Saturday

The De Pere Dog Park Association will hold the second annual Tailgate Party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at De Pere Dog Park.

The event is the major fundraiser for improvements at the 2-year-old dog park, which is located at 1400 Biotech Way, just off American Boulevard, in the city's west-side industrial park.

Admission is $5 per person.

The event will include the popular lure course for dogs ($5 per run) and Green Bay Packers costume contest at 1 p.m. (dogs can be dressed as a favorite Packers player or a fan), agility demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., raffles, micro-chipping of dogs at a nominal cost, limited grooming, dental check-ups, pet portraits, and standard tailgate food and refreshments for sale.

Renaissance faire this weekend

The second annual County of Brown Renaissance Faire will be this weekend at Brown County Fairgrounds, 1500 Fort Howard Ave., De Pere.

The family-oriented event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $10 for adults and children 16 and older and $5 for children 3 to 15 years old.

The festival will have vendors, potters and demonstrations. Free activities include sword making, wreaths, face painting and bubble wands. Renaissance music will be played throughout the day. The fairgrounds will be turned into a medieval tavern/inn Saturday night, featuring a live band.

Food and beverages will be available both days, including turkey drumsticks, mead, wine and beer.
