Marshfield police officer prepares to run 50-mile ultramarathon

On more than one occasion this summer, Jason Foemmel, 33, of Hewitt, has embarked on a four-hour training run at 1 a.m. after finishing a shift at the Marshfield Police Department, where he works as an officer.

After one moonlit run, he boarded a bus to attend a scrimmage of the Marshfield High School freshman football team he coaches.

"There are a lot of goofy times I leave for a run," Foemmel said about fitting training into his busy schedule. ...
