James Jones isn't complaining over lack of receptions

Packers receiver James Jones didn’t catch any passes on Sunday and was only targeted twice. But Jones will be the last guy who complains publicly about his lack of action.

“It’s tough but the ultimate goal is to win the game,” said Jones in the locker room today. “I don’t go into a game trying to get 160 yards and we come out with a loss. The ultimate goal is to win the game and that’s why it’s a team game. If I’m not making plays, that’s why we’ve got other receivers and that’s why we’ve got other playmakers. Nothing’s wrong with me. I’m just out there trying to help my team win, and we didn’t get the win done on Sunday.”

One reason Jones didn’t see the ball was because of the way the 49ers were playing on defense, according to quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“James didn’t get targeted as many times as we would have liked,” said Rodgers. “Obviously you got to try and give him the ball. But the way they were playing us the ball was going to Jermichael and Randall a lot and Jordy had a few more opportunities.”

With as many talented receivers as the Packers have, it seems inevitable not everyone is going to catch a lot of passes every week.

“That’s what we pride ourselves on,” said Jones. “If they try to take one of us away, the rest of us are going to kill you. Jordy and Randall had a great day, Jermichael had a great day. Hopefully we can keep them rolling and get me involved and make some plays.”

Jones has never been known to grumble when the ball doesn’t come his way.

"There isn't anything to yap about,” he said. “We're just trying to win. I'd be real selfish if I came in here and had an attitude or something. … I'm not mad about it.. ... I know the ball will come. Every game you're not going to get 10 passes. Just keep grinding. That's how I've been my whole career. Just keep working."
