Police are looking for a man who robbed a woman of her purse at gunpoint Thursday night.

The 29-year-old woman was riding her bicycle south in the 100 block of North Main Street at 6 p.m. when she encountered a black man who was walking on the sidewalk. As the woman neared, the man pulled out a gun, showed it to her and grabbed the woman's pure. He then ran north on Main Street, said Joe Nichols, spokesman for the Oshkosh Police Department.

The man is in his mid-20s and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He had shoulder length, tightly curled dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a red and orange striped polo shirt, blue jeans and a black hat. The woman also said he had a "distinguishable droopy lower part of his right eye," Nichols said.

The woman was not hurt.

Anyone with information should contact the Oshkosh Police Department, (920) 236-5700.
