Merrill police seek park vandals

City officials are frustrated over a rash of vandalism to local parks that has caused an estimated $5,000 in damage in recent months.

The latest report came in Monday night, when officers found a slew of smashed paper dispensers in the bathrooms at Kitchenette Park, 211 W. First St., Merrill. Police on Monday spoke with several teenagers about the vandalism, but no charges have been filed and no citations have been issued yet, Merrill Police Capt. Corey Bennett said.
