A judge wants mental health experts to determine whether a Wausau man accused in the shooting and dismembering of a St. Paul, Minn., man is fit to stand trial.

Kou Thao, 26, appeared in Marathon County Circuit Court on Friday with a new defense attorney. Steven Kohn of Milwaukee was hired to represent Thao on charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and possession of a firearm as a felon; Kohn replaces Thao's court-appointed attorney, Wright Laufenberg of Merrill.

Thao was charged April 22 in connection with the death of Tong Pao Hang, 58. Hang was reported missing April 8 ...
