The Artist Next Door: Wydeven-Pose paints the moon

For as long as she can remember, Shari Wydeven-Pose has been an artist. She started seriously drawing at the age of 10 and took the proverbial bull by the horns, jumping straight into drawing people, a subject that can send shivers through college senior art majors.

"I was a people-watcher," says Wydeven-Pose, of Fond du Lac. "I used to do profiles and baby portraits. When you look at people long enough, you get a grasp of what the features are and where they go."

Though she continues to draw portraits, the bulk of Wydeven-Pose's work shifted about 10 years ago into acrylic paints and moonscapes. ...
