Yoga classes starting this week

Yoga Fit

Yoga Fit is designed to improve the health, performance and mental acuity of athletes or individuals interested in improving their level of fitness. Based on the ancient fitness science of hatha yoga, it blends balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format. Prior experience of particular level of fitness is not necessary. Yoga Fit will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays Sept. 16 through Oct. 30 from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. at Riverside in the South Balcony. Cost is $45 for school district residents and $50 for nonresidents. The instructor is Kathy Zabel, a certified Yoga Fit instructor. The second series of sessions will be from Nov. 4 through Dec. 18. Register at the Recreation Department, 85 Morningside Drive.

Iyengar Yoga

The Fond du Lac Recreation Department Iyengar Yoga class will focus on precise alignment, posture and attention to detail. While the main focus of this class will be Iyengar style yoga, the instructor will occasionally blend other styles as needed to achieve the best results for the individual. Participants will focus on proper technique and preparation which allows a deep appreciation of your body and how it works. Iyengar Yoga will be held on Monday evenings, Sept. 16 through Oct. 28 from 5:35 to 7:05 p.m. Cost is $45 for school district residents and $50 for nonresidents. The instructor is Lenore Gerhartz. Register at the Recreation Department, 85 Morningside Drive.
