The Port of Green Bay saw its tonnage numbers slip year-over-year in August, but the year-to-date total remains ahead of last year.

Decreases in the amount of coal, limestone and salt contributed to the monthly tonnage total slipping from 259,872 in 2012 to 189,592 tons this year. That's a 27 percent decrease, according to a monthly report from Brown County Port & Resource Recovery.

Year-to-date the port remains ahead of 2012 with about 1.2 million tons of cargo transiting the facility so far this year. ...
