When children arrive at the Hope Center homeless shelter, staff members have to get them enrolled in school and then make sure they are properly outfitted for classes.

Parents who are so desperate that they are forced to move into The Salvation Army's Hope Center, Portage County's only homeless shelter, rarely have money for school supplies - and losing a home can send a child's schoolwork into chaos.
