Fox Cities riders step up big in National Bike Challenge

The Fox Cities is cruising as the 2013 National Bike Challenge nears an end.

In the national effort to encourage bicycle use - and in the process pit communities against each other in friendly competition - Appleton ranks as the No. 1 community among those with populations of 50,000 to 200,000.

But it's not Appleton alone. The Fox Cities as a whole is leading the way in the National Bike Challenge. In communities with populations of 5,000 to 50,000, Neenah ranks fourth nationally, followed by Kimberly in sixth place, Greenville in ninth and Hortonville in 10th. ...
