A new school year schedule is beginning at Intercession Episcopal, 1417 Church St., in Stevens Point. There will be two Sunday morning services with an hour of Christian formation for everyone in-between.

Starting at 8 a.m., there will be a simple, spoken service with Holy Communion in the chancel (choir area) of the church. This service is quiet, smaller and without music. Then, at 10 a.m., a family-oriented service with Holy Communion will be celebrated with music. Twice a month there will be a children's sermon.

In-between these two services, from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., there will be formation hour for everyone. Adults will have the option of discussing the day's readings in the library, relaxing with coffee in the parish hall, or - beginning Sept. 22 - studying scripture in a course titled Opening Up the Bible in our small group room.

The youngest children, up to age 3, can be in the nursery so parents can partake of any of the options. All other youth will meet in the church at 9 a.m. before heading off for their individual groups. Children ages 4 to 12 will go upstairs to their two groups, while the older among our youth, grades 7 to 12, will head downstairs for their disciple groups.

Two Sundays a month, youth in grades 7 to 12 will meet after the worship service to participate in youth group. Youth group activities will focus on fun and fellowship, as well as serving others. This group will meet on the scheduled Sundays each month from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., ending with having lunch together.

On Monday evenings, several adults will meet at the church to discuss scripture and the Mystics. This discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end by 8 p.m. All are invited.

Other upcoming events that everyone is invited to attend include:

? Spiritual Gifts Workshop: Gifted and Called, Oct. 12

? The Heart of Christianity: Part One: "What we Believe - An Advent Study," Thursdays from Nov. 14 to Dec. 19

For more information on these upcoming events, watch the paper or call the office at 715-344-3879.

At Intercession Episcopal, all are welcome - no matter where you are from or what you have believed. We are a community of Jesus' disciples who are seeking to know and serve God together. Please join us.
