Two motorists were badly injured Tuesday afternoon when their trucks collided on South Pine Tree Road.

Emergency crews were forced to extricate one driver from his vehicle following the 2:30 p.m. incident.

Hobart police said both drivers were 54-year-old men, and both were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. Police did not release either driver's name.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck heading west on Fernando Drive collided with another truck heading southbound on South Pine Tree Road. Both vehicles were knocked off the road and landed in a corn field.

Police continue their investigation.
