Faced with a growing homeless population, Green Bay aldermen have agreed to relax occupancy limits at a downtown shelter.

St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter will be permitted to house up to 84 people a night when it opens Nov. 1 for the winter shelter season.

City officials had previously tried to enforce a 64-person limit, but the church-run shelter found increasing demand from a growing number of homeless people in the community. ...
