The Green Bay Packers last week had a 100-yard rusher and the more-balanced offense that coach Mike McCarthy has been aspiring to for years.

But that was against a Washington team that has started horribly and is worse defensively than NFL coaches and scouts suspected going into the season. So any claims that the Packers' running game is legit will have to wait.

But that could start changing if the Packers run the ball credibly this week against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 1-1 Bengals have had a top-10 defense the past two years and one of the best defensive lines among teams that run a 4-3 scheme. ...
