The Rhinelander teen arrested in connection with the stabbing of his mother and his mother's boyfriend returned to jail voluntarily on Tuesday after a hearing in Oneida County Circuit Court.

Michael Thimm, 17, of Rhinelander asked a judge to revoke his $150,000 cash bond while attorneys on both sides of the case iron out the details of a proposed plea agreement, online court records show. Thimm returned to the Oneida County Jail Tuesday afternoon; the reason for Thimm's request was not immediately clear.

Thimm was arrested Dec. 12 after police say he stabbed his 42-year-old mother and her 44-year-old boyfriend at their home in the 500 block of Spring Lake Road in Rhinelander.

Thimm was charged as an adult days later in Oneida County Circuit Court on felony charges of first degree attempted homicide, first degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct.

A pretrial conference is set for Oct. 23.
